Hi,

Has anyone experienced the following. One of my user's has
got an appointment in his calendar, however when the
mailbox is accessed from an Outlook 2003 client configured
to use cached mode is doesn't show up.

However if I start Outlook without cached mode from a
Terminal Server session, or if I use the webinterface
(Outlook Webaccess) I'm able to see it.

I have pressed F9 to manually synchronize the cached mode
clients, but the appointment still doesn't show up. Does
anyone have any idea on how to troubleshoot this?

Thanks,
Fredrik

Hi,

thanks for your quick response! I just walked over to the
user's workstation and tried it. Unfortunately it didn't
solve the problem, but I learned something new! Thanks! Do
you, or someone else, have any other ideas?

Might be that the client's OST file is corrupt. I think I would try
deleting all *.ost files on the client's hard-drive.

Close Outlook
Perform a FIND (click on desktop and press <F3>)
(If you are using XP or W2K operating system be
sure to look in hidden files)
Look for *.OST files.
Delete all that you find from the find window.
Restart Outlook.

When you restart Outlook it will rebuild a fresh new
ost file. Depending on how much information the client
keeps in their mailbox this can cause the first opening
to take longer than normal.
