I want to disable cached lookups. Is there a way I can do this?
On a DNS server or on the client?
You can't really disable cached lookups on a server, but you can set the
MaxCacheTtl on the server to 0 seconds which in effect disables server side
caching.
The MaxCacheTtl can be set in the registry or with dnscmd see:
813964 - Description of DNS registry entries in Windows 2000 Server, part 2
of 3:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=813964
For client side caching the are two ways, stop and disable the DNS Client
service, or set the MaxCacheTtl on the DNS Client.

2003:
