In outlook 2003, using microsoft exchange server, I
inadvertently checked the "use Cached Exchange Mode" on the
Exchange Server settings, which resulted in all emails being
downloaded to my computer.

I would like to delete the these emails from my computer.
Can you tell what folder this might be in, and where to look
to find the folder.

After I delete this folder, will the email headers be
downloaded from the exchange computer to my computer again
(which is what I want to happen)?

Walter

Just for the correct understanding; Cached Exchange mode makes a local copy
of your e-mail so messages are still kept on the Exchange server. Using
Cached Exchange Mode reduces network traffic and speeds up your experience
with using Outlook.

You can disable/enable cached Exchange mode in your Exchange Account
settings which can be found under Tools-> E-mail Accounts.

Thanks Roady. I understand what the cached exchange mode
does, and I have disabled it (but only after having
downloaded several thousand emails to my computer with lots
of large attachments).

So what I want to do now is to get rid of the local copies
on my computer (to save drive space) while leaving them on
the Exchange server. How can I do that?

Not sure what you mean by downloaded - what services do you have in your
profile? Are you set up with a PST file for delivery?

You're welcome! :-)

Oh, that is the ost-file. It's in a hidden location. By default you can find
it here;
C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\outlook.ost
