I'm new at using XP and I work for a medium sized company
doing LAN support. We have some new notebooks coming in
that run Windows XP and I'm responsable for setting them
up. I noticed that when the notebook is not connected to
the network, my domian administrator login still works.
It seems to remember the password from loging in when it
was connected to the network. This obviously means that
the network administrator password is stored somewhere
localy on the PC....correct? Does anyone have any
information about this? This a security concern for us.
Hopefully this will be read, because everything else here
today is about the lovely worm that came up yesterday.
Thanks in advance!

Only the hashes are cached, not the password. I don't remember where the
documentation on this is though. I got this link from a basic google
search, which should be a good start:
