What is the experience with the refillable "half-sponge" cartridges
offered by MIS? How is it when the time comes to refill again?
How will the spring in the "poppit valve" hold up, d'ya suppose.

I was confused by the MIS instructions, and wrote some tentative
ones for my own use, with a photo, as an MSWord file. Email
me if you'd like to browse/edit those.

So far, refilled cartridges working fine.

One problem other than the mess and inconvenience of refilling is that
you do not know what you are getting since the relabelers do not tell
you who the mfg/formulator is and you can get the same bad stuff from a
variety of vendors. You also need to watch out for fading according to
wilhelm.

MIS (www.inksupply.com) is a reputable vendor, offering several varieties
of archival ink. They were the only vendor I found offering refillable cartridges
along with pigment (non-fading) ink appropriate to the C-80. It bears their
label. I was surprised, however, by their instructions, which seemed to have
been written by somebody who had never filled one of their cartridges,
which are easier to fill than the instructions are to understand.

Dick, I'd like to see what you've written up.

I found their instructions a bit hard to follow, probably mostly
because there are no pictures.

I also worry about the part where they say to let the ink soak through
the sponge to the top before replacing the fill sponge.

Ask them who the mfg/formulator is of the ink.

Please send me any comments you may come up with.

What are you looking at? Here is what I am looking at:

Tech support says there is a typo, and it is Item #5. (?!!)
(There is a picture!)

I didn't understand that, exactly. I went ahead and installed each cartridge
while there was still ~10% white "sponge" showing. No problem.

Why would they tell me that?

Good question and why would it make one bit of difference if you knew
who made the ink?
Meashershithead keep posting his bullshit about knowing who makes the
ink and so far no one seems to care...except him. And of course, he
never ever uses or has used after market inks.
He is one confused person.

Hi Frank,

Since I killfilled Measekite 9 months ago this newsgroup has become a
lot more enjoyable to participate again. I know you have a need to protect
neophytes but ignoring the character, since we realize his nature at this
point, might give you a lot more sanity.
