C:\Winnt\System32\Lsass.exe terminated unexpectedly with status code 128

This is happening most of the time when I get on the net.
It never happens when I'm using any other app. I've
searched the MS database and all of their articles
describe different problems. The message comes from the
NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM and forces the system to shut down
after 60 seconds from the message popping up. I can't
seem to think of anything I do in particular when it
happens. Sometimes it happens right when I get on the
net, sometimes 15-20 minutes later. I'm running Windows
2000 Server SP4 with IE 6.0 SP1. All critial updates have
been run and applied. This just started out of the blue a
couple weeks ago. No new software or 'suspect' files have
been introduced to my PC. I haven't been surfing either.
So this is just weird. Oh, the computer is a Compaq
1200XL510 notebook.

It is because your computer has been infected with w32.sasser.worm

Install this Microsoft Security Update: http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS04-011.mspx , and check your computer with this Symantec Removal Tool : http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/FxSasser.exe
