C++ Runtime Problem

I'm running ie7 (I think) off a 1 year old Vista Home Premium install
(updates current).

Suddenly when I try to start IE I get a Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
"Runtime Error".

It says Program C:\Program Files\InternetExplorer\iexplore.exe has requested
the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the
applications support team for more information. IE is dead at this point.

This does happen off a clean boot with nothing else running.

Where should I go - thanks.

Thanks, Alan. Prior to reading your post I did ...

Control Panel -> Internet Options -> Advanced -> Reset Internet Options

I then rebooted and took the same path to "Restore Advanced Options"

This seems to have fixed the problem (and this path removed that little
'mini-Google Command Line" thing that I used to have - it often locked up IE
anyway).

So things seem to be running again and your Google toolbar suggestion was
probably a slightly more efficient solution than the path that I stumbled
onto.

Thanks again.

Go into Add/Remove Programs and remove the Google stuff.
