My CMI sound card failed after I rebooted from a windows update.
When I say 'failed' I mean that it stopped working. I logged back in and
there was no sound. It originally just came up "Your sound hardware cannot
play this type of sound." I rebooted and sounds appear to play but nothing
comes out. My connections are correct, the speakers are on and the volume is
up. I cannot find the problem. I am running an ASUS P5GDC-V Deluxe
motherboard and are using the onboard sound card. The sound cards' 3d Audio
Engine is an Xear CRL 3D EAX2.0 A3D1.0. The Audio CODEC is CMI 9880 and the
driver version is 5.12.01.0008.62 (64). I am running DirectX 9.0c.
Any help would be appreciated.
