Hi!!

Does anybody know why the my 40 gb hard disk is almost 50% full when I
reckon to have no more than 5 gb of staff filling it up?
I run the disk clean up, and defrag!

Any help or tips?

Fabrizio

Is your hard drive partitioned? If so maybe C is 50% full.
Right click on C in explorer and look at properties. How
big does it say C is?

You do not need to know where they are to clean them up.
All you need to do is to run disk cleanup, click on
the "More Options" tab, then hit the "Clean Up..." button
in the last category labeled "System Restore."

yes I have two partions C: 47 GB and E: 10 GB!
You know what's strange? When I right click all the folders I have in C: and
sum up the size of each folder I get approximately 3 GB! My question is why
about 14 GB of C: are full if the total zise of all the folders in it is
about 3GB? What' s about the ather 11GB? It is full of what?

this is the reason that I have completely disabled system restore on my
machine... it eats drive space, and the backups really aren't too good for
restoring from anyway.

That's because they're not back-ups, they're restore points, there is a vast
difference - if you're attempting to use them like back-ups no wonder you're
having problems!

To make it short, from explorer the used space in C: is 10.8 GB, but the
size of all the folders in it is 5.90! So what's in the rest?
