"C" folder - 46 objects but not visible - registry problem?

I was looking for the remnants of some malware in the registry on hubbies
pc. I backed up the registry first and set a restore point. The cat appears
from nowhere and does a tap dance on the keyboard, closing regedit.

Now when you open the "C" (local drive) folder it is empty. Its reporting 46
objects but they dont show.

I have done a registry import from the back up I took but its still the
same. I went to do a system restore and the window is blank as well.

I booted into safe mode and the "C" contents is visible but the system
restore is still a blank window.

Everything seems to be working except some music files associated with media
player. The network is still working so I shared "C" and all files are
visible from another computer so am doing a back up that way.

I'm assuming something has been deleted from registry, any ideas? I've never
seen this one before.

(

See if this command helps, from Start/Run:

regsvr32 jscript.dll

Spikey,

For Windows Me:

regsvr32 %windir%\system\jscript.dll

If that does not help, try this in Windows 98/Me newsgroup.
