I just added an 80GB drive and made my 40GB the slave and
installed XP Home (for new computers). My plans were to
start over again since my last version was 95SE and was
not handling all my applications well.

My problem is, the computer is labeling this drive Local
Drive G: instad of C:.

Is this an XP problem/fix or a CMOS fix? I could live
with it, but most programs default to the C: drive when
installing, etc.

If you are not planning to do a dual boot using the WindowsXP as a starting
point then the best way to correct this is to re-install again but this
time, before you install, unplug your 40GB drive before proceeding. You will
probably still have the ability to boot on this drive in future but the way
you would go about it is by changing the BIOS settings.
There are documents that will tell you how to correct the above problem by
editing the registry but if you have not installed any programs, the install
does not take long time anyway... Editing registry may not work in all
cases.
