when i go into my computer or winows explorer the C drive
is always coloured blue, along with a few unknown files
that are in the drive. my computer is fairly new (only 1
year) and it seem to be running slower dipite clearing
the hard drive of my unneeded files (5-10gb, mostly
movies). i am not quite sure what this means, if you know
please email me.

It's one of the options you choose in your control
panel\folder options\View tab. "show encrypted or
compressed NTFS files in blue". Have fun.

no, blue means the file is compressed; green is encrypted. You didn't
choose to compress the root folder, did you? [ie, the whole partition].
that's not good... The folders "Windows" and "Program Files" especially
should not be compressed or encrypted.
