HELP?! I got a "Winlogon generic control dialog: winlogon.exe". It says "the file or dir C: is corrupt or unreadable. Please run chkdsk utility". I've tried to recover data using "getdataback", but it was un-successful. When I pull up my C: drive there is one file in there that is only 16kb but when you look at the used/unused pie....it still shows that the 24 GB are used (and 31 GB are unused). Any suggestions on how to recover these files. They are mostly powerpoint presentations. I have to travel for am early am meeting and I can not do without these files. PLEASE HELP!

First try booting in Safe Mode, if still no good
Try the repair using yr WinXp disk, if you only have a recovery disk then
its possible you may loose all data.
You now understand the importance of Backups?
