C: \ chkdsk /r

I used the recovery console to get my computer to start.
I did the chkdsk /p first then chkdsk /r. It is stuck on
50%...What do I do?

Wait.

At least let it run over night. If there is no change after 24 hours
post a reply back here with that information.

What happens if you remove the CD and reboot the computer?

Does Windows XP now start up correctly? If not, what does happen?
