Alrite guys & girls,

Summer as givin me a lot of time to work so i have a lot of money in the bank and i am gona spend it on some new stuff on the PC so what do you think of this.

Asus A8N-E nForce4 Ultra
GeIL 1GB (2x512MB) PC3200 Value Dual Channel Kit
AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice 90nm
HIS Excalibur ATI Radeon X1800 GTO ICEQ3 SILENT TURBO 256MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express)

Get it all for bot £338 from overclockers.

So usuall please, advice on the products, price, where to get them from etc.

Cheers

All seems fine for that price m8. I take it your using a tower or desktop case you already have?

Not being a lover of ATI cards I cant really comment but i'm sure it's fine ;)

I have the 1GB of Corsair XMS memory with amazing timings 2.2.2.5
Cost me a lot of money and is really hard to find however I now wish I had bought at least 2Gig instead. Or at least 4 gig of cheaper stuff. I find only having a gig causes a lot of page file usage on hard drive and is a really bad bottleneck at times for my system. If you can get more, you wont regret it ;)

Looks good, as long as you're happy with the video card for any gaming you may want to do.

Also be aware you're buying outdated technology with the Socket 939/DDR1 RAM setup.

I believe AMD have stopped manufacturing Sckt 939 chips now.

And yes, 2Gb of memory is a much better option and it really is at a very reasonable price at the moment.

nice one dark angel

going to change the psu?

also Flopps did not know socket 939 are going to be off the shelves soon
I guess AMD x2 is going to take them over one day

I also didnt know they were replacing the 939 socket and as i want this new systems to last quite a long time so i want the most up to date stuff.

So this is the new system i was thinking off:

Asus M2N32-SLi-DLX nForce 590 SLi (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC5300 667MHz Value DDR2 Dual Channel Kit.

The graphics card is always the one i have problems with. I wanna use my pc mostly for gameing so if someone could recomend me one that would be great. Price range for a graphics card is about £150.

Thanks
Dark
