How can I buy an Upgrade. I have 97 installed on my
machine, but machines change and I'd like to get a CD so
that when I upgrade the PC I still have the product. I
have my licence numbers etc - do I just buy an upgrade CD
somewhere and pray it works? Looked at the MS
website 'How to buy PowerPoint' but no sign of any link
which would enable me to do so!

Upgrades can be purchased at many stores that sell computer software, and
probably at a number of online sources too. I would make sure that I had
the original Office (or PowerPoint ) 97 CD first though. You will need that
if you get a new computer and want to use the 2003 upgrade on that computer.
You may also need it when you apply the 2003 upgrade to your current system.

Ah but there's the rub. I had a fire in my office here,
and stuff got burnt, but worse, thrown out in the clean
up - I was on my way back from Zurich - including, I
assume, the orginal CD. I am registered with MS, but I
don't have the original CD anywhere - mind you, I lost a
whole bundle of stuff! Are we saying that if I don't
have the original CD, even if I am registered etc and
have the mile long registration code, then I am cooked?

Wall.

That's a great site, but I live in the UK and there
doesn't seem to be any number or contact point unless one
lives in Canada or the USA?
