I want to buy a new HD - probably 120G at 7200rpm

before I go on to the net to buy one, what do I need to know for
comaptibilty issues?
is there more than one type of connection etc?

Im using a 1st Mainboard FA15T motherboard

Yeah some come with SATA connections now though its still relatively
uncommon. Most are the usual connections.

I think theres a $49 after rebate Seagate deal 100ATA 80 gig this week
but they were all sold out the first hour when I went today at the
local COMPUSA. . Ive seen other deals in the $80 range after rebate
for 120 gigs.

You will have a choice between SATA and IDE. If your motherboard does not
support SATA, purchase the IDE variety. Choose an 8MB buffer over the more
common 2MB buffer. Seagate, Maxtor, WD, and Samsung all make 120GB 8MB cache
7200RPM hard drives.
