Buttons that do nothing!

I have a fresh install of win2k sp4, ie6 sp1, mcafee 7.0.
I am having issues with IE when users are online. It
seems that the buttons on websites are inactive for users
(like the search google button). When I am logged on as
administrator I can view the same webpage and all the
buttons are active and work properly. However, if i
create a new user and add him to the administrator group,
He has the same problems as all the other users and is
given inactive buttons. So, it seems that the only way to
use the internet in any useful way is to only be logged in
as administrator. There is probably a simple solution to
this, but for the time being this is pretty mind boggling.

Any help would be appreciated

I suspect that your default Internet zone settings are disabling
scripting. Try putting a problem web site in the trusted zone. If it
works, then you either need to put all your problematic sites in the
trusted zone or relax the scripting restrictions in the Internet zone.

Kent,

I appreciate the input, but that doesn't solve the
problem. It seems that others are having problems with
the same issue. I have put google.com in the trusted zone
to no availe. I have tried setting my security and
privacy to low. Its almost as if there is a file
somewhere that has permissions or ownership for one person.

I don't know. I am boggled.

Jeff
