Buttons stopped working

Buttons suddenly stopped working in IE.

This would be like the Delete button in Yahoo Mail. The regular hot links
work fine. The buttons appear to move but there doesn't seem to be any data
transfer. Buttons in the toolbar work
..
I had to replace my modem and it's possible some configuration was changed
during all the testing because the problem appeared after I got online
again.

The Tech guys at my ISP suggested a problem with Java but I haven't found
anything at the Microsoft website that addresses the problem. Ironically, I
have to use Mozilla Firefox to do the search because the Go button doesn't
work in IE, so it is a problem specifically with Explorer. I'd switch to
Firefox exclusively, but many websites don't display properly with it.

Any ideas on this?

I'm using IE Version 6.0.200.2180.xpsp_sp2_gdr.050301-1519 and Update
Version SP2 on Win XP.

hi, im also experiencing the same problem.
search a lot accross the internet. i've ran SFC, reinstalled scripting host,
java.
virus scanned pc using nav 2005, removed spywares using adware se 1.6, still
problem does not get sovled.

amazing fact is everything works perfectly fine in firefox.

eagerly waiting to resolve this issue.
