Busy Twain on Visioneer 6100

I loaded the program for a Visioneer Paperport 6100. Everything looked
fine, but when I tried to acquire, or click Twain, I get the message that
Twain is already in use.

Anyone have any ideas what I can do? I can't reach anyone at Visioneer.

I bought my Visioneer Paperport 6100 new and it has been pretty trouble-free.

The installation guide I got with mine says to make sure you install the
software
before you connect the scanner to your computer. If you did it in reverse
order
this could be what is causing your problem. Try disconnecting the USB cable
and restarting your computer. This is just a guess, I can't guarantee this
will help.

Hello George, sorry to hi-jack the thread, but are you able to run
your 6100 under Win XP?
I just built a new system, and can't get WinXP to recognise my
6100USB.
Visioneer says no support for XP, I managed to track down a supposed
"fix" to install it under XP, but no go.
