I have many different clients and I store all their documentation in a
folder. I just want quick access these folders with leaving Outlook.

John,

I don't mean to needlessly criticize the brevity your post as lacking
complete sentence structure so I will assume that these are just typos. I
have some suggestions but I am not clear what you mean by "quick access." Do
you want to create links to this stored documentation? Please restate your
suggestion or question more specifically.

I can't speak for John, but I would certainly appreciate the ability to link
folders to items (e.g., opportunity history, account history, tasks). Like
John, I tend to group files logically into folders.

Linking to folders which, when selected, provide access to the files in the
folder (possibly via a standard File Open dialog box) is much more powerful
and convenient than linking into the changing array of individual files in
the folder at any point in time. A number of Microsoft Office products would
benefit from this type of link for the same reason.

Not being able to organize data into a hierarchy of folders is a
definite short coming in BCM. It works in Outlook, so it's probably
something BCM hasn't added explicit support for in their data model.
I've suggested this to them directly several times over the years and
so have others on this newsgroup, but I guess the numbers aren't their
yet, or being heard. I'm guessing they'll be supporting Outlook's
"Search Folders" in BCM in the next release, judging from the features
in the beta, but still no sub-folders.

Although folder hierarchies in BCM would be nice, I was referring to links to
folders in the directory structure of the Windows file system (aka. Windows
explorer).

My apologies for my lack of clarity, Luther.
