I am running Office 2003 with outlook and business
contact manager. Every thing works fine for a few days
and then business contact manager crashes. The only
solution is to uninstall and reinstall the program.
Multiple messages have been sent to MS with no response
from them.
Has anyone else had this problem?
The program makes great advances in contact managament
but the constant crashes are a drag.

Do you get an error messages or event log entries?

When you say you've sent messages to Microsoft, do you mean that you've
filed a support incident?

I get the normal have to close program warning and then
it says do I want to send a message to MS. I say yes and
then it askes me to add to a servey about the problem.
I also get an error message that says "an array index is
out of tollerance".

So far the program runs for a couple of days as It just
crashed this morning again but has been running fine
since i origianally put up the message on the 29th.
Telling the program to go back and reinstall or correct
any errors does not work and I must uninstall and then
reinstall the program to have it work again.
I have also check for updates on the MS Office site and
have install all updates with no effect.

Hope you can put some light on the problem.

Thanks

For the "array index out of bounds" error, try clearing the forms cache.
Choose Tools | Options | Other | Advanced Options | Custom Forms, then click
Manage Forms, then Clear Cache.

Therefore, if you continue get crashes and you have a retail version of
Office 2003 Pro or Small Business, you may want initiate a support incident
with Microsoft at
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=fh;en-us;incidentsubmit. You
will need a .Net Passport, but there should be no charge for filing the
request.

Are there any side effects from clearing forms cache. I would like to try it but am afraid of the result. Will anything be lost
Also when I inadvertently disbled addin for a few days the emails I received that should have gone into BCM do not show up under the contacts. Is this normal? Is BCM so real time that it cannot see back to link previous message with appropriate contact?

No. Outlook will reload the form from the original published form
definition.

The other behavior is normal. If the addin is not running, it cannot build
the REM history. You can have REM search your messages and build the history
with the Business Tools | Link E-mail | Link Existing Mail command.
