I am trying to install the Trial version of BCM. The setup fails with the
following error... "Setup failed to configure the server. Refer to the
server error logs and setup error logs for more information." Microsoft
support is of no help and I need to evaluate this product with a potential
conversion from ACT 2005.
 
Basically the MSDE setup failed for whatever reason.

You could try uninstalling any versions of sql server or msde you have
on the machine, and then running bcm setup again.

If that doesn't help, I think you're down to inspecting the msde
install logs.
