business contact manager

I am having difficuilty linking existing sent or received email messages to
an Account in business contact manager so that they will display in the
account history. I believe I am using the correct method, eg click the link
to history arrow, select accounts, then click the name arrow and select the
appropriate DBM account. Unfortunately I can't ever get the desired item to
appear in the history display. Can anyone help?
