Business Contact Manager (BCM)

I run Office 2003 Small Business Edition with Business Contact Manager. I
have today downloaded an Update to BCM (125mb!) and now the whole of my
database has disappeared!!! In fact there is now no BCM on my PC. Please
someone, anyone HELP!!!!
 
First make sure that the BCM database file is still around in this
folder:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Business Contact Manager

The you need to find out where BCM's got to.

Do you have this folder, with files in it?
c:\Program Files\Microsoft Small Business\Business Contact Manager

Thank you ever so much for your help in this matter. I followed your advice
and I have located the folder/files in the location you specified.
there are two files within this Business Contact manager folder:
1) MSBusiness Contact Manager.ldf (10mb)
2) MS Business Contact Manager.mdf (25mb)

Can you please advise how I get these files back where they belong?

Control Panel\mail\datafiles and BCM should be listed. You can either add
the files and then make them the default or not

If Neil's solution doesn't work--your database is not listed--it's
probably because your database got dismounted somewhere along the line.
You can try attaching the db file to the sql server instance running
this command from a dos prompt:

OSQL -E -S .\microsoftsmlbiz -d master -Q"CREATE DATABASE
MSBusinessContactManager ON (FILENAME = 'C:\Documents and
Settings\luther\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Business
Contact Manager\MSBusinessContactManager.mdf') FOR ATTACH"

Substitute your login for luther.

Afterwards, in Outlook/BCM, in the 1st use wizard, and in the change
database dialog, your database should show up in the list of available
databases. It should also be listed in the Control Panel location Neil
mentioned.
