Hi,
We evaluate the Business Contact Manager 2007, it does look and work not bad
but we have some big problems finding standard features. Maybe me look at the
wrong spot, we do hope someone could assist us to find a solution.
There are 2 things we try to figure out:

1. We need to assign user access rights that allow us to limit work group
users to only see specific contacts and functions. For example we need to
disable the reporting since only the management should see this also there
should be a way to limit the user to contacts that have a specified fields.
For example we could have a field saying "owner" and than specify a login
filter to only show the user contacts that have a specified owner key.
However other users could see all is not access rights limits are assigned.

2. It seems that Business Contact Manager 2007 is limited to 40 user defined
fields, we have at least 90 of them that I need to import. I am amazed that
there is a limit in a modern application like this. Surly there must be a way
to increase this, maybe in the registry or somewhere else. Any tips are
welcome. We would really like to give this a shot but we are amazed that
these standard features are not easily found.

Best wishes,
Thom

Thom:

Well, your requirements are really for MS CRM, not BCM. In MS CRM, you can
add many more than 40 fields and you can assign user access rights. BCM
doesn't work like that -- you will have to move to CRM.

Lon
