Hi, Tony,
Word treats business cards as labels. You'll want to buy some perforated
business card stock matched to your printer type (laser or inkjet). If it
isn't Avery brand, at least look for some indication of equivalence to some
Avery stock number.
In Word, go to Tools > Envelopes and Labels (in Word 2002, Tools > Letters
and Mailings > Envelopes and Labels) and click the Labels tab. Click the
Options button. Select "Laser and inkjet". Set the Label Product to "Avery
standard" unless the brand of stock you bought is elsewhere in the list.
Select the proper product number -- although as far as I can tell, all of
the ones marked Business Card have exactly the same measurements. Click OK.
Leave the Address box empty, leave "Full page of same label" selected, and
click the New Document button. This creates a document containing a table --
if you can't see the edges of the cells, click Table > Show Gridlines. Each
cell is the size of one card.
Set up the text of the card in one cell. One hint here: If you want the
contents centered both vertically and horizontally, right-click the cell and
select Cell Alignment, then click the center picture in the popup menu.
Select the completed cell and copy it to the clipboard. Then select the
whole table and paste, which will fill in the other cells. Save this
document, and print as many copies as you need.
If you need to include a logo or graphic on each card, see
http://www.gmayor.dsl.pipex.com/graphics_on_labels.htm for instructions.
