I have a new laptop, under warrentee, 10 months old. During the windows start
up with black screen I notice one pixel is burning bright. Is it burned out?
Also would this be considered a warrenteable item being only one pixel and
would it lead to possibly more pixel failure? All input is would be would be
apreceiated and considered before I contact manufacturer.
Thanks;
Tim

I Imagine it comes under the same warranty that alot of the TFT screens my
company purchases, which means its only a warrentee issue if 10 or more
pixels are out. Saying that - some companies will consider it if the pixel
is in the major screen area.

Check with your manufacturer's policy.

Some will warranty on one broken pixel, some need as much as ten.

I hate to tell you this, but most vendors have a "number of bad/dead
pixels" rule - some allow as many as 15 dead/bad pixels before the even
think about replacing the laptop/screen....

Check with the vendor - my guess is that with just 1 you are screwed.

Tim;
Read your specific warranty.
You are probably well within acceptable criteria.
Generally one anywhere is a non issue.
It becomes an issue as the number grows.
Also the location makes a difference, but not with just one.

Lightly tapping the back behind the pixel often resolves the issue.
