burning question

What is the best format to save a movie with Nero. I have tried VCD and SVCD
but they won't always play on my DVD player.Is there a format that is
foolproof.

I use Nero and have made about 10 VCDs and all have played on my JVC. I
haven't tried SVCD yet.

The file format was .wmv (from Microsoft Movie Maker) but if Nero can read
it Nero should be able to burn it ok. Sounds like your DVD player is just
finicky.

Are the blank discs that you start with always the same?
Same brand, same type (CD+R/-R etc..)?
Also what kind of DVD player make/model/year? And does it say VCD/SVCD
compatible?
