If 'burned' DVD is a copy of copyrighted movie then you
are violating the copyright and the system works.

.no , they are not copy right movies. they are home
movies that i made from my own 8 MM tapes that i want on
DVD..

Next question would be whether or not your graphics card has its own memory
or shares with main system memory. If shared, that's likely the issue and
you should, if possible, replace the graphics card with a card that has its
own memory, a minimum of 64MB and given what you are doing, perhaps 128MB.

Second, have you made sure you have the latest drivers for your graphics
card, check the manufacturer's website to make sure you have the latest
drivers as well as whether or not your software player application is the
latest version.

Hi, thank you for the reply.. i guess i went in over my
head with these dvd's. i am a novice at all of this.. i
will have to check on all that you are telling me, cause
i dont know what i have. i will try to find out ..I dont
know what a grafics card is... so that will be my first
lesson. thanks again...

You're welcome. Check your computer documentation, it may give you a lot of
information. Or, you can look for the make and model of your PC on the
Internet, just type the manufacturer and model of your system into a Google
search box, www.google.com and press enter. If your computer is for sale at
some site, probably many sites, the site may also have the pertinent
information or visit your PC manufacturer's website as they should have the
specs.

A graphics card essentially allows your system to display graphics, that's
anything you see on the monitor. There are many different types of cards
and memory configurations as some are built in while others are add-in and
for more intense graphics including the playing of DVD movies, it's best to
have an add-on with plenty of its own memory.

Sorry your wrong. Fair usage.
If your going to the video rental and renting DVD's and burning them, to
use, sell, rent, or give away that's a violation of copyright but if your
backing up DVD's you have purchased for your own use that's not a violation
of copyright. In the former your renting the rights to view it for a
limited time, in the latter your purchasing the right to view it as often as
you wish, whenever you wish.
As far as I can discern the poster never commented on what DVD's he was
making copies of, yet you decided to chastise him.
Under your interpretation of the law I would have to purchase the right to
use the media every time said media was corrupted for any reason as none of
the media conglomerates have any reasonable replacement policy.
Under your interpretation if I were to purchase 10 music CD's and rip the
only two songs worth a shit off of each CD to one CD-R so I could play them
in my vehicle I'd be committing a copyright violation.
The US judicial system has never backed up that interpretation of the
copyright law.
