Burning DVDs Question

I have read the numerous posts on not being able to Burn a DVD from WMM, so
my question is, why use WMM? Is it that much better then everything else? I
have used Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 and it had similar features.

I'm just trying to see if I am missing something.

Thanks in advance,

Many don't use Movie Maker.... but it's entry level software and free for
the many millions of people who have Windows XP.

Once you try it, you find that you can do so much with it that you don't
need to move on to higher level software quickly. You can always use the
software that was bundled with your DVD burner to make DVDs.

Unlike many third-party applications, WMM2 is also a very "Windows-like"
application - it looks and feels like a Windows app should. This
contributes to its ease of use.

Roxio 7, for example, as a ton of custom controls that don't integrate
nicely in a Windows enviroment. For example, keyboard shortcuts are missing
from many of them, and they don't support XP's "themes".

Because it is really inexpensive (cheap, virtually a freebee, lots of
empathetic support widely available) and though still a Windows media-only
primitive, it does offer a quick and dirrty solution for many users. I
would also argue that MM is still a great tool for the creation of web based
streaming content.

MM does not support DVD authoring and so, one way or another, many home
users will end up purchasing 3rd party DVD authoring solutions..such as
Roxio...and some will mimic MM in functionality.

I use MM2 because it is quick and powerful...(and free) It offers
remarkable tools for creating a very good movie....then I use easy media
creator 7 to burn to DVD. MM2 is so easy and fast....I create videos for a
fee and garranty that they will be ready the same day (for short films up to
10-20 minutes of video footage). So I can transfer video, edit and burn to
DVD fast! The interface is relatively intuitive and doesn't overwhelm users
with too many controls,,,effects parameters. I like it!

I just ran across the same problem. I was stupid and did not check to see if
WMM had an option for saving my movie to a DVD+R (or what have you..) So now
I have my movie all edited and great but no way to get it on DVD! Any
suggestions?
