Hi All,

I have some ISO cd images I would like to burn to a CD. Is there any way to
do this with the CD burning wizard in XP Pro? Unfortunately the machine the
images are on does not have any "real" burning software, and I have already
downloaded and used trial versions of Nero, etc., to burn images. All the
trials have expired, and I would like to know if there is any way to burn
images without paying for piece of software.

Any ideas?

Windows XP's CD burning program is rather basic and cannot
burn an .ISO image. Try the following:

Sony CD Extreme - A full featured free mastering program that is similar to Click N burn. This is an 8MB download complete with update patch and manual. It works with most IDE burners but does not support USB or SCSI. CD Extreme is compatible with Windows 95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP. You can download it directly from Sony. Just install in the following order.
1. CD Extreme from Sony installer
2. Update it here and finally
3. Update the Burning Engine for more Burner Support from here
4. The manual is here in PDF format. You need Adobe Reader to view this file

Joshua;
Not with Windows XP native software.
It may be time to buy or you could search Google for free ones.

Download another trial of Nero or Roxio. Uninstall the previous trial
versions first. Do a Google search for "free cd burning software".

You can try this free burning software,
http://www.burn4free.com/
some one on another group said it contains,"Spyware" but none of my
scanners found any or at least immunized against it so I disregarded
their post.

Hmm, interesting. What is their motivation for distributing this? I do not
see license terms, or any sort of rationale. Normally Open Source zealots
put up some bit about it being under the GPL, LGPL, QPL, BSD, or whatever
license.

So why is this free? Who says it is spyware?
