I just bought a new DVD Burner and it came with Nero software. It doesn't
seem to have what it takes to burn a DVD. I went the Nero site and
downloaded their free trial, and that didn't seem to help.

Do I need to purchase the full blown software to burn a video DVD or should
the software included or free download be adequate. If it's not adquate,
then how is there value in a free trial?

Hello,

You may have wiped out your ability to do the Upgrade that you may be
entitled too by downloading / installing the Trial version. If you can
re-install the version that came with your DVD burner (First make certain
that you have truly removed the trial version and reboot the system before
proceeding.) you may be able to pay a reduced fee for an upgrade. There
will be some details in your paperwork or perhaps on the Nero site

As John said.
Otherwise you can download a free trial version of most of the other popular
DVD authoring programs. Most of them will create and burn your DVD
uncrippled. There is a list of the popular programs along with links for
downloading on my website in the "DVD Programs" section.
