burn dvd MM2

I recently used MM2 to started an autobiography for my father, it works great, but now I want to put it on a dvd to send to my father so that we can begin recording his sound clips for narration, my first vcr worked in my computer and standalone dvd, but not his computer nor new standalone dvd. I purchased a dual dvd burner, upgraded my roxio, new dvd burner came with MYDVD, upgraded to 5. Burned a dvd will play on my computer, not on standalone dvd, not on friends computer, checked compatibility, dvd-r were 92% compatible, so I purchase that, now checking both compatibility of standalone dvd's dvd+rw is noted as compatible. So I will now try dvd+rw, I want this dvd to be given to my brothers and sisters after it is finished. I have tried to research for the most compatible, but I am having so much trouble. Can ANYONE HELP, I am getting discouraged and the project is import

types play on what player models - you might check to see which your family
has
