Hi,

I am very new at this and I can not seam to be able to burn the CD with
only the slide show. It is including the entire presentation/setup. Can
this be done? I would like for the person to be able to add the CD to thier
drive and automatically be able to view the slide show.

Thank You,
LRG

Hello

If you are using PowerPoint 2003 then use file->package for
cd->options->play all presentations automatically in the specified order (or
play only 1st presentation automatically). All the setup stuff will still be
there, but it should launch in presentation mode, not edit mode.

Btw you can have presentations launch automatically without burning to cd by
saving as a .pps instead of a .ppt. As your new I thought you might be
interested
:-)

Hope that answers your question.

If your new you might have a problem finding the save as .pps type option -
Msoft didnt exactly make it obvioud!

When you Save As SCROLL DOWN in the "save as type " box till you find
"powerpoint show *.pps". This will open in slideshow view

Did that answer the question / help?

GM,

TY this did work. I still have a few questions. When I played the slide
show it seamed to have a minute delay to get started is this normal? Also,
we tryed to play it on a lap top with XP power point 2000 by burning it as
package CD and it will not play. It makes the system freeze. What else can
we do to make sure my clients get to view the show if they do not have
PP2003? Thank you for your help!

Please be aware that creating an autorun CD, saving the file as PPS, all of
these things, do not keep users from being able to open your file and edit
it in PowerPoint. Although a PPS or autorun CD will run as a presentation,
it can still be opened and edited.

Just wanted to make that clear.

Creating an autorun CD gives you the option to include the PPT Viewer. This
way, it doesn't matter that the recipients have PPT at all --so the version
doesn't matter.

The Viewer that PPT 2003 uses when you use File|Package for CD does not run
on Windows 98, but it does run on Windows 98 SE (second edition) as well as
Windows 2000 Service Pack 3; Windows ME; Windows Server 2003; Windows XP.
See

for details.

If your PPT file -- or collateral music, etc. -- is quite large, it could
indeed create a delay upon start. Likewise, a slow CD drive could cause this
also.
