Bullets not visible

After working properly for years, when I click to add a Bullet in Word 2003,
the cursor indents to the proper spot, but no bullet appears. I checked in
Bullets and Numbering in the Format menu and the proper bullet style is
selected. I tried other bullet styles with the same result - an indent, but
no bullet. I'm using Vista, but I have been for the well over a year with no
similar problem in Word 2003. Any suggestions? Thanks.
 
Click Format | Bullets and Numbering. Select each of the predefined bullet
formats and click the Reset button. When you are done, close the dialog box.
Now, can you apply bullet formatting to text?
