I have came across an interesting problem and wondered if anyone else has
had experience with this. First of all I am running windows xp and have
office and PowerPoint 2002 on computer. I also have the stand alone
PowerPoint 2003 viewer installed for which i use with powerlink.

The problem I have encountered is this. In the feature where you can dim
text to another color after you click for the next bullet the color that is
saved is not the one that I see in the 2003 viewer. It works in 2002 just
fine, works on laptop just fine but when I use the viewer it changes it to
what appears to be one of the primary colors of the closest match. I.e.
light green to white, dark green to blue and a darker blue to a black.

I haven't used this feature before so I don't know if there is a glitch with
the viewer. I have ran the stand alone power point 2003 viewer on both
desktop and laptop with the same weird results... Any Ideas??

I also uninstalled, redownloaded (in case they had an updated one) and
reinstalled with no change in the results...

Questions please ask.. Any of you smart folk have an idea of what is
happening??

I will have to experiment with that one, as I do send a number of
presentations out with the viewer. One thing you could do, to troubleshoot,
would be to download, install and view your presentation with the 97 Viewer.
Do the dimmed bullets go to the expected color or other? Let us know the
result so we can find a solution or report a bug to MS.

I did download the powerpoint 97 viewer and ran the PPT file / show on it.
Now I know that alot of the cool transitions are not supported (they
weren't) however it did hold the color when dimming the bulleted points when
you clicked to call up the next one.

It seems then it is a bug with powerpoint 2003 viewer. Can anyone else
reproduce this or is your systems okay?

Yes, I see the same thing here. It isn't honoring the color setting in the
animation settings.

I have it figured out with some help of the great MVP's around here. The
text dimming feature only works with the standard color wheel and the
powerpoint 2003 viewer. It does now work properly with the custom color
wheel. --
