Using Office 2003

Added text box to a standard slide.

Added text to box with bullets from the formatting bar.

The spacing of the bullets to the text is very tight almost nil.

How do I re-format it to match a slide that was selected from the standard set of
new-slides?

I think that you are looking for Format --> Line Spacing. Another option is
to click the placeholder that is the right line spacing, click the format
painter (the paintbrush button on the toolbar), then click your text box.
They should end up the same.

Does that help?

If the bullets are too close to the text, ensure that your Rulers are
visible - then select all the text within the text-box (or just a line) and
drag the tabs visible on the ruler to position bullets and text as required.

update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

Only placeholders provided by the slide autolayout feature will follow the
master text formatting defined by the Slide Master and Title Master. Text
boxes do not follow the masters. However, as you have been show, there is a
relatively easy (but not very discoverable) way pick up and apply the
formatting from one object (such as text placeholder) to another (such as
text box) by using the Formatting Painter tool.

If you (or anyone else reading this message) think that PowerPoint should
provide an easier way to indicate which objects containing text should
follow the masters formatting or not, don't forget to send your feedback
(in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to Microsoft at:

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions).
