i recently purchased PowerPoint 2003 Student/Teacher
Edition. I e-mailed myself a presentation i made a work
and opened it at home. The bullets i made in the
presentation at work had been changed to a different
character. i went in to change the bullets manually, but
when i chose the bullet i wanted it came up with some
other seemingly random bullet and placed it in the
presentation instead of the one i chose.

can anybody help?

It could be an issue with the font used. Try opening the presentation and then
go to View > Master and then to Format > Bullets and Numbering. Click on
Customize. What font is shown at the top?

Go to Format > Replace Font. Under "Replace:", is there a font listed with ??
next to it?

Most probably when you chose a font for the bullets you used a font that you
have on the computer at work but not on the computer at home.

Try using characters from a font that's installed on both computers.
