Bullet Problem

I have a presentation created in ppt 2000. This has been used on a
number of occassions with no problems. Recently, the bullets, instead
of being solid coloured circles now appear as either rectangles or
unfilled circles on some PC's/Laptops.
I was guessing this might be a font issue and when looking at the
format bullets option, find that the bullet being used is one called
Dixieland, character code 108.
I have checked this presentation on another PC and found that although
it had dixieland as an option, character code 108 was not available.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance for any assistance offered.

Regards

Dixieland is probably a font that was installed with one version or another of
Corel Draw or some other Corel product, but it's not likely to be on other PCs.

So I think you're probably right that it's a font problem.

First, are you *certain* that Dixieland's installed on the other PC?
If you open the file in PPT and choose Format, Replace Fonts, what icon appears
next to Dixieland in the upper list box?

Dixieland's been around in one form or another since the first release of Draw,
and some of their fonts have been modified over time.

Steve,

Firstly, thanks for your input. I have opened the presentation and
selected the text box that contains the suspect bullets. When trying
your suggestion of Format, Replace fonts, I can see Dixieland with a
question mark to the left of it.
Indicates to me that this font is not recognised. Any further
suggestions?

Many thanks.

Ket,

The question mark next to the font name indicates that the Dixieland font is *not installed*

The question mark means that the presentation needs the font but the font isn't
installed on the computer or embedded in the presentation.

You'd need to install Dixieland on any PCs where the presentation will be played or
(probably a better bet) change the bullet font to Wingdings, which is likely to be
on pretty much any Windows computer.

It should be enough to select Dixieland in the upper listbox of the Format, Replace
Fonts dialog box then choose an alternate font in the lower list box and click
Replace.

Many thanks.
