I have an Excel database with one field that contains
email addresses, which appear as live links. When I try
to copy & paste them into bcc: in Outlook, they are no
longer live links.
In your Excel list, a "live" email link simply means that when you
click on that email field, your default email program (perhaps
Outlook) will run and will create a new message with that email
address in the TO: part of the message header for you.
If you copy and paste the "live" link from Excel manually to the TO:
part of your new message in Outlook, the email address is no longer
"live" because there's nothing else for it to do - you've simply put
the email address you want into the TO: field, and that's fine - now
you're ready to compose and send your email to that address.
How can I send one email to all of these recipients
without them seeing who the others are?
Have you already imported the names and addresses from your Excel list
into contacts in Outlook? If so, you can follow these steps in
Outlook:
Create a distribution list: File/New/Distribution List, and add all
the contacts you want, and call it "myList" or something more
descriptive.
When you compose the email, send the email "TO": yourself, and add the
"myList" list to the "Bcc:" part of the message header. (Not the "Cc:"
field).
With the message open, you may have to click on View/Bcc in the menu
options in order to make the "Bcc" field available. (Blind copy).
