Bulk e-mail using distribution list or categories?

In Office 2000, I seem to be limited to putting 25 e-mail addresses in each distribution list, in order to e-mail successfully. Which means I have to send press releases out in batches. My list has approx. 300 names. Can I e-mail them out all at once using the categories instead? How would I do this?
