Is there any way to save a new dotx file and use it along with the
buildingblock.dotx file. It would be nice to save a group of building blocks
and then share just that one file. if anyone can help please let me know.

Yes, you can.

Open a new blank document, and use the Save As command to save it as a
Word Template (*.dox) in the folder

%appdata%\Microsoft\Document Building Blocks

When you create a building block, use the dropdown in the dialog to
choose this template as the place to save it.

To distribute the building blocks, just pass along a copy of that
template, with instructions to save it in the same folder on the other
computer.
