Hi
How do I make a compatible partition to install on new hard drive
I made NTSF and FAT32 but still says it needs compatible partition what do I do
Everything on the computer is brand new

If the OS can find the hard drive then you can use the Disk Management tool
in Computer Manager to create and format a partition. If this is the
primary hard drive and you are installing an OS then you can create and
format the partition during the install. Please let me know the details and
I'll try to get more specifics to you.

Kind Regards,

Boot from the XP CD, it has all the tools needed to partition and format the
hard drive, then install XP. You may have to go into BIOS first and set the
CD drive as the first boot device.

if you are installing Win XP OEM on your custom built computer, it would
give you an option where u can create partition of your choices. you can
create as many partitions you want during the setup. or can get a third
party tool to create it. (ususally the hard drives come with the disk
utility floppy or cd-rom)

thanks,
Hasaan,.

You boot from the CD and do a clean install.
Click on or copy and paste the link below into your web browser address bar.
