built in chat software for home network?

Can anybody tell me whether XP home edition has got an
inbuilt chat program? I am currently living in a student
flat and we have just set up our home network,
facilitating exchange of papers etc, Without the use of
external software is it possible to chat to eachother
using some hidden xp prog?

I guess you could use NET SEND but that's not really chatting. I suggest you goto http://www.download.com & find a LAN chat program.
