Wanted to log in as a local (built-in) Administrator in WinXP Home
Edition,
but cannot do it. The system returns "Log in impossible because of account
restrictions". It is strange but fact that I can log in as local admin in
safe mode,
but I don't need safe mode. I need normal mode with local admin rights.
Any suggestions?

Create another user with Admin Rights so you can use him in normal mode.

I have another user with admin rights, but I need local admin account.
why the system doesn't let me in (in normal mode)? Only safe mode.
was it made on purpose?

If you have a user with Admin Rights on the PC - that is LOCAL Admin
rights..
(Are you in a domain?)

XP Home limits the access to the Administrator account on purpose - "by
design".

I'm not in a domain. Just home PC.
I installed Norton Internet Security 2003 Trial Version.
The trial period expired. Now I want to uninstall NIS, but
cannot do it. It was installed under Supervisor account
and it during the uninstall process NIS asks to log in as a
Supervisor. I understand that NIS means its own internal
Accounts system, not Windows' one. But I was logged in
as an Admin and could not uninstall NIS. So that is why I
wanted to log in as a built-in Administrator hoping that this
time NIS will not tell me that I haven't got enough rights to
uninstall it.
After the trial period of using NIS expired, the Account feature
in NIS became not active. I do not want to renew License and
want to get rid of this NIS, but literary cannot do it.

By design, the only way to log into the built-in Administrator
account of WinXP Home is to reboot into Safe Mode. If you need
administrative privileges while in normal operations, modify an
account you've created.
