building links within a PowerPoint presentation

I am trying to build an interactive PowerPoint presentation that will allow
me to build a "home" slide then move throughout the presentation through
links. By clicking on a link I want to be able to jump from page 2 to page
12 or page 6 or where ever. Then once I jump to the desired page I would
have additional links that would pull up a mpeg video or a still image.
After all of the links have been set and confirmed I save the presentation.
The problem is that every time I go back and open the presentation 90% of the
links don't work properly, they are taking me to the wrong page. What am I
doing wrong?
Please note I am building this on a mac.
Thank you!

This should give you all the information you need:

Lost hyperlinks, hyperlinks link to wrong place, hyperlinks stop working

Thank you. I'll check the site out now.

Also, read through the current threads on Public.Mac.Office.PowerPoint ... it
seems that the most recent update to 2004 causes internal hyperlinks to stop
working for some users.

Removing Office, reinstalling and reverting to the version prior to the update
seems to sort the problem out.
