I'm puzzled. . . . every once in awhile the Excel file I
have built in a Word document will become unavailable for
changes. It switches to some type of a 'picture format'.

Any suggestions on how to stop this from happening will be
GREATLY appreciated!

I don't have an answer but my suggestion is to post to general questions
because this is an advanced question.

Hi Djh,

This could be the result of external software, such as the
NAV Office Plug-in. If Word is unable to recognize the
OLE-Server for an OLE object (the application that created
it), it will tend to convert the OLE-Object to a graphic.

It could also be a problem with damage in the document's
internal structures.

That group is so overloaded, he'd be lucky if anyone ever read it... It's
much better to search for a newsgroup that's *topic-specific* and to avoid
posting in "general questions" if at all possible.
