hi everyone,

I'm trying to find out how can i build a report
programatically. I provided a form for the user to select
the fields they want and once the user is done. The built
query(which is built in Runtime when the command button is
clicked) will automatically open up in a report with
fields headings, pages, etc. Is the possible to do? And
so, what steps are need?

Thanks

Jame

This isn't a simple task. Start by looking in Help for CreateReport(). YOu
can also search for CreateReportControl().
I prefer to prepare the data based on user selections and then open the data
in an Excel spreadsheet. Users are quite often fairly comfortable arranging
the format in Excel.
There is a Query By Form applet at
http://www.rogersaccesslibrary.com/OtherLibraries.asp#Hookom,Duane that gets
you most of the way.
