I'll be building my new pc in a couple of weeks, and I've gotta question
about installing xp. I have xp home installed on the computer I have now,
and i'm wondering that when I build the new one, am I going to have a
problem activating xp using the same xp cd that I used with my 1st computer?
I wont be using my old computer any longer, so its not like i'll have it on
2 pc's at the same time.

Thanks

I wont be using anything from my old computer except for 1 120 gig hard
drive and a 100 gig, thats it, everything else will be brand new. So does
this change anything? I really dont think I should have to go out and buy
yet another copy, since I bought a copy for each, my mother in law, and my
daughter and myself.

Greetings --

Assuming a retail license (OEM licenses are not transferable),
simply remove WinXP from the computer it is currently on, and install
it onto the new one. If it's been more than 120 days since you last
activated that specific Product Key, you'll most likely be able to
activate via the Internet without problem. If it's been less, you
might have to make a 5 minute phone call.

Here are the facts pertaining to activation:
